What A Weekend!

This weekend marked our annual Robinson/Chanon summer camp.  This year, Britton stayed at home (she had a very important invitation to compete in a fishing tournament) so it was just Kenley, Railey, Maysie, Raynes and of course, baby Ansley.  Thanks to Garrett for letting me steal some of her pictures:)

These girls enjoyed every last second together…from lounging in the pool

to getting manicures and pedicures

And just some good old fashioned fun hanging out

Couldn't help but to post this picture of me and Garrett, along with our sisters, at almost the same ages.

To make the weekend even better, Railey and I dressed up on Saturday night to go to Ms. King's wedding.  This is a celebration that Railey has been waiting on for some time now.

Fun with Kaly

In the craziness of Summer, our nanny Kaly is helping to keep me sane.  Yesterday she finally got some one on one time with Ansley while the girls were at VBS.  The result….these hilarious pictures with the title "Just friends being friends."

Ansley: Five Months Old

Ansley continues to be laid back and very happy.  No new stats to report this month…I believe our next doctor visit is next month.  It is officially Summer Break which means that we have moved her to a later schedule.

7:30 Wake and feed
9:30 Nap
11:30 Wake and feed
1:30 Nap
3:30 Wake and feed
5:30 Nap
6:30 Wake up
7:00 Feed and bath
7:30 Bedtime
9:00 Dreamfeed

Unfortunately Ansley's routine is about the only one we are able to keep around the Chanon household.      She is spending more and more of her nap time in her carseat….missing parts of naps here and there.  Luckily, she seems to be handling all of this with no problem.

I FINALLY transitioned her out of the bassinet at five months old.  I fed her rice cereal about two weeks ago since Dr. Barr gave us the go ahead, Ansley did well but after seeing how time consuming it is going to be to feed her food with a spoon, I decided to delay solid foods for a bit longer.

Here are some amazing shots that my friend Garrett took of Ansley…I couldn't choose just one.

The Road Trip: Trip to Atlantis

Even though Heath and Suzanne were able to come to the ZBB show with us on Saturday night, we wanted to go to Atlantis to see Rooney, Dick and Connor before we left.  The girls were shy at first, but warmed up in no time.  Both Rooney and Suzanne said that Maysie reminded them most of me….that is the first time I have heard that!

Almost immediately, Maysie found one of the most breakable things in the house.  Uncle Tommy's old chess set.

Poor Connor, he didn't know what to do with two girls to play with.  They wasted no time taking over his toys and playing in his room…treating him like the brother they never had.

No pictures with Rooney, Dick, Suzanne or Heath this time but next time I will definitely capture one for the blog!

Bright and early the next morning, it was time to head home.  10 hours and fifteen minutes, and only two stops later, we got to Marietta.  What an amazing trip!

The Road Trip: Ft. Lauderdale

The next morning, we continued the road trip and headed down to Ft. Lauderdale to visit the cousins.  It was going to be a fun filled weekend with the adults going to another Zac Brown Band show and everyone celebrating Claire's 4th birthday.

Just after we arrived, Uncle Dave cut some coconuts out of the tree.  This is becoming a tradition when we visit, and all of the girls sat and watched to make sure he got all of them…then they proceeded to divide them up!

Check out the bedheads on these two!  They slept in late then decided to help Amanda make some pancakes.

I didn't get any pictures at Zac Brown Band concert we went to.  And unfortunately the cell phone that did manage to capture some pictures was lost at some point that night.  That might be a good thing….

The next morning, we woke up bright and early to prepare for the big party.  It was at the beach club so  the girls all stayed home while everything was getting setup.  With the exception of a few showers, the day was gorgeous.  And as you can see from the picture below, the rain was just as big of a hit as the sunshine!

Maysie and Railey spent the first hour of the party searching for seashells.  Finally I told them that I would buy them seashells so I wouldn't have to be the keeper of the shells.

During one of the showers, Amanda took the opportunity to serve cake.  Claire was all smiles to be the center of attention.  I have a feeling that she and Maysie will be swapping "middle child" stories for years to come.

And what party is complete without a piƱata.

I didn't manage to get many pictures of Jack, but this one cracked me up.  Messy face and obviously annoyed that I made him stand still to take a picture.  He is SUCH a great kid but he definitely gave me a reality check of how crazy it is going to be to chase Ansley around in just 8 short months.

Finally it was time to head to the beach for some playing and surfing.  Both of which my girls LOVED.

Turns out that the birthday girl loves to pose for pictures.

All of the dads, especially Uncle Dave, were so sweet to Railey and Maysie.  They made sure that they were well taken care of in the ocean.

Another great trip to Ft. Lauderdale on the books!

The Road Trip: Zac Brown Band in Tampa

Thank goodness the girls slept on the ride home from SeaWorld, because we had plans to go to the Zac Brown concert that night in Tampa.  We showered and quickly headed out the door to the show.

The original plan was for Laura and her husband to meet me but Laura had a surprise for me and brought Sulein.  Laura was my suitemate freshman year at Jennie Murphree dorm and Sulein and I lived together our Senior year.

It was just like old times, except with a 7 year old and 4 year old in tow.

Even though neither of them were familiar with ZBB, we had a blast and they kept me cracking up the entire night.

Sulein pretending to sleep in Paul's bunk

The girls made it the entire night…we only left 20 minutes before the show ended to beat traffic.  What a day!

The Road Trip: SeaWorld

Day Two of the road trip, we woke up bright and early to drive from Tampa to Orlando to go to SeaWorld.  I wasn't quite sure what to expect, especially since this Florida native was more of the Disney World and Busch Gardens type.

Our first stop was the dolphin show.  After about five minutes Maysie asked to move in the shade (are y'all getting the idea that she is my diva?) but she toughed it out.  Right after the show, we arranged for the girls to go behind the scenes to see a dolphin and meet a dolphin trainer.  I had no clue what was in store.

The girls trained the dolphins, fed the dolphins and asked every imaginable question about dolphins.  I bet we were back there for 30 plus minutes.  Definitely an experience they will never forget.

After our dolphin experience, we went around the park to see all of the other animals.

And finally, the girls decided to appease me and pose for pictures.  Don't let the crossed arms fool you…they were pretending to be cold in this picture.

I am a HUGE fan of SeaWorld…I think the girls would have a tough time deciding between it and Disney.  The only animal we didn't see was Shamu…he was training for a new show so I was able to pick the girls up to at least get a quick peek.

Six hours later, two happy kids and one very tired mama headed back to Tampa for our next adventure of the day….
