"The" Valentine

Little Miss Maysie was quite pleased last week when she checked the mailbox and found an envelope addressed to her.

She wants to frame it for her room….

Cobb County Snow Day

Poor Cobb County just couldn't get it right this year predicting the weather and school closings.  We woke up to snow but only a school delay.  They finally made the call and needless to say we had some very happy kiddos around Blackland Ridge.

Most of these pictures are out of focus but I had to bribe them to stand there for pictures pretending like I had some news from the school on closing for the day.

What face would you make if I said you all had to go to school at 10:00?

What face would you make if I said you had to go to school right now?

What would you say if I told you school was cancelled?!?

About 30 minutes later we did, in fact, find out what school was out for the day.  Just in time for the snow to stop and the roads to clear.  Poor East Cobb….

Love, Love, Love

This year Valentine's Day was even more special because Sope Creek hosted the first annual Father/Daughter dance!  The Blackland Ridge group loves any excuse to get together so the Harwell's invited everyone over before the dance to take pictures and socialize.

Maysie won't be able to attend until next year but she had no problems jumping into the pictures with her girls.

Huge thanks to Mandy Crawford and Jenny Mason for capturing some great pictures while I
chased Ansley around!  She may look cute and innocent here, but she and Grace were fully prepared to explore every last inch of the Harwell's very well decorated house:)

In addition to pizza, a popcorn bar and karaoke, Sope Creek Foundation arranged for each girl to bring home a photo magnet.

This year I decided to find a few quick Valentine ideas on Pinterest for the girls.  Railey LOVES tic tac toe (and tic tacs) so this Valentine was an easy choice for her.

And I chose this one for Maysie…because what kid doesn't love Pop Rocks?

We put up a few decorations this year…

And of course the girls woke up Valentines morning to some gifts.  Tutu and Poppy gave them a gift basket with candy, jewelry tattoos, chocolates and my favorite gift…a personalized matching game with photos.  I will definitely be using this idea for gifts in the future.  Grandmommy and Grandaddy sent them $10!

Ansley: 13 Months Old

After my last post on Ansley, I realized that I neglected to include her one year stats.  As you can see, she has had no problem "catching up" since her preemie days:

Length: 30 inches - 75th percentile
Weight: 23 pounds 4 ounces - 90th percentile
Head circumference:  18 1/4 inches - 75th percentile

Still no walking, still no teeth.  Ansley has gotten a bit more clingy this month but I am crossing my fingers that is because she most likely has 6 teeth coming in at once.  She also celebrated this month by getting her first "shiner."

We are now officially starting the transition from two naps to one nap in preparation for Ansley starting "school" in the Fall.  Here is the new schedule:

7:30 wake and feed
10:15 nap
11:30 wake and feed
1:30 nap
4:30 wake and give bottle
6:30 feed dinner
7:30 bottle and bed

Ansley: One Year Photoshoot

Deana managed to get some adorable shots despite Ansley feeling a little under the weather.  And even though most of them turned out like this….

She definitely had to work extra hard for each smile…Little Miss Ansley wasn't in the mood to be photographed.

 Love you Deana!
