Ansley: One Month Old…Take Two

So apparently I jumped the gun on the one month old post.  Yesterday we went in for Ansley's official one month old appointment (at 5 1/2 weeks old), for her hepatitis shot and to get her official stats.  And even though she is growing beautifully, she is still a little scrawny.

weight: 7 lb 15 oz - 16th percentile
height: 21 inches - 44th percentile
head circumference: 14.5 inches - 50th percentile

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past week

And my favorite picture had to be this one snapped by our doctor…Ansley posing next to the baby dolls that were occupying Railey and Sara Mays during her appointment.  This shows just how small she still is!

All You Need Is Love

After copying Garrett's Valentine's Day ideas not one but TWO years in a row, I decided that it was time for me to come up with some ideas on my own.  Thanks to the internet, it took me no time to come up with the perfect idea for Railey and Maysie.

Maysie's was easy.  We found a cute idea at Pear Tree Greetings, attached some Goldfish, and we were good to go!

Since Railey has been obsessed with word searches lately, I found an adorable idea on Pinterest.  I used this word search generator, bought some pencils from the Dollar Tree and voila!

And not only did I come up with my "own" ideas, but I got these done two weeks early.  And then, Winter storm NUMBER TWO came to Atlanta.  School was cancelled, again, which also meant that Railey missed her Valentine's party and the cards are still sitting in her backpack.  But, we did get three more days of sledding, building snowmen and hanging out by the bonfire….

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ansley: 1 Month Old

Today Ansley is one month old, but her due date was just yesterday.  When we went to the doctor visit last Friday, she had gained 1 pound and 1 ounce in nine short days….and needless to say, the doctors were pleased.  She is still only 6 pounds 15 ounces so we are still using newborn diapers, but I am ready to celebrate the day that she moves on to size 1.  We no longer have to supplement her bottles with neosure for extra calories which means that I can go back to breastfeeding.

Ansley is laid-back (so far) but I am fully aware that with preemies, it takes them a bit longer to "wake up."  She goes to bed around 10:30, wakes at 2:00ish, then sleeps until about 6:00.  I'll take it!

Thank You Tutu

Over the past two months, the amount of help that we have gotten has been overwhelming.  I have to admit, at first it took this "get everything done yourself mama" out of her comfort zone but I quickly realized that if I was going to survive 5 weeks on bedrest while managing children with a traveling husband, I was going to have to accept any and all offers that came my way.

But, this post is for my mom.  When baby Ansley decided to come a bit early, my mom dropped everything and was up here that afternoon to help with the girls.  And it wasn't until one month later that she decided I was ready to handle my new family of six (counting the new puppy) on my own.  ONE MONTH…now that is above and beyond.

In one month, we only managed to slow down for one photo session.  Here is the first of many pictures of Tutu with her THREE girls.

Unfortunately, it was short-lived and Maysie decided that she didn't want to take part in anymore pictures.

So thank you mom for everything. You are truly the most selfless person I know. I hesitate to say this after only three days on my own but I think I am going to be able to do this!
