Make Room For Baby!

It was the perfect Fall day to shower the momma to be Lynn!

Most of the decorations worked out perfectly…except for the ducks in the spiked apple cider.

We swapped old stories, made new memories, and most importantly we gave Lynnie the love and attention that she deserved.

Baby Ansley decided to make her debut about halfway through the shower.

Soon enough we will be showering the next mama to be…Sumry!

Opening gifts was a blast, the Carhartt gear was a HIT!  Boy or girl, this was the perfect choice for the Cline baby.

Brooke came up with the cutest idea of the night.  Check out these adorable rolled up diapers…swaddled with washcloths and little baby socks for hats.  LOVE THIS SO MUCH!

And our little Lauren even came to visit too!

We love you so much Lynn!  You are going to be a fabulous mommy!

Ansley: Ten Months Old

Sweet baby Ansley is ten months old!  She made her Daddy very proud when the first word to come out of her mouth was "dog" followed by "Dada" a few days later.  She is pulling herself up on anything and everything and becoming much more vocal.  No crying but she will let you know if she wants something.  I am beginning to think she is going to look just like Maysie!

I am trying my best to transition from baby food with no success.  Hopefully I will have better news next month….

More Fall Fun!

The Blackland Ridge Brat Pack keeps getting bigger.  Now that the weather is getting nicer, we are outside every spare minute and it amazes me to see the things that these kids find to entertain themselves.

The tetherball made its way from our front yard down to the culdesac and has been a huge hit.  The only problem is that one of the kids has to "duck and cover" on the base so it will stay still.  No tears yet from getting hit on the head with the ball.

Unfortunately, there were some tears in the culdesac this past Tuesday though.  The kids were decorating the trees by tying rocks to the branches with vines.  Don't even ask. One fell, Railey was hit on top of the head, blood everywhere, trip to urgent care.  Railey opted not to get the 1-2 stitches that the doctor recommended and instead got a couple of shots in the head to stop the bleeding.

She was a trooper…probably helped that her buddy Buie took the ride with us to urgent care for moral support.

Just another crazy day in Blackland Ridge!

Fun Fall Randomness

It was quite the Fall around here…we have definitely had a lot of fun….but the craziness of THREE different schedules to manage got the best of me and I haven't been great about keeping up with the blog.

Ansley isn't the only new addition to Blackland Ridge.  Meet Grayton, the neighbors cockapoo.

Railey now wants a small dog.

My little diva Maysie, with whom I fight almost daily about her clothing choices (think swimsuit cover up when it is 20 degrees outside) has also decided that she needs to wear makeup.  So every morning in carpool line she applies her lipstick.  I need a bunch of prayers for next year when I have to get her out the door by 7:00 to catch the bus.  Seriously….

Maysie's new favorite word is boring but she doesn't quite know how to use it.  So if she doesn't like something, it is boring.  When I wake her up from a nap and she is grumpy, "This is boring." If I won't let her wear flip flops in the snow, "This is boring."  You get the picture.  But you can imagine that it is "boring" when I laugh at her saying this word wrong too.

Ansley got to spend time with her buddy Alexander.  He is four months younger and might be even bigger than her still.

Ansley has a very busy social schedule!   She was also invited to her best friend Grace's birthday party and she got to smash her first cake.

Notice the adorable outfits?!?  Party favors.  Precious!

Ansley's Baptism

Because I am crazy, I decided to schedule Ansley's baptism the same weekend as Halloween.  It made for a crazy weekend but I am equally as excited that she is baptized as I am that it is behind me.

Ansley LOVES her "Aunt" Stacey….aka the Godmother

My favorite part of the brunch afterwards had to be the cake made by Sandy's Sweets.  It tasted even better than it looks!

Thank goodness for our parents who helped to set up, clean up and manage the craziness of the weekend!
