Sugar Mountain

After being back in school for a little over a month, it was time for Winter Break! So we packed up with the Crawfords and headed to Blowing Rock, NC to the Chanon's mountain house.  The snow started about 30 minutes away...the kids were thrilled!

And the snow kept on falling through the night.  So much so that we were "stuck" in the mountain house the next day with nothing to do but play in the in snow and drink.  Sounds like the perfect vacation to me!

So much fun was had that first day and night.  The kids all got along and they were all very helpful with baby Ansley.

We played everything from Uno to Heads Up.

The next day, despite the fact that the kids were perfectly content playing on their iPads and in the snow for another day, we needed to get out.  We had to ski!

Good news, Paul was willing to pull Mandy's truck down the driveway. Bad news, it slid right off of the driveway into the woods.

It turns out that Paul is the luckiest person in the world...after towing it out two days later, the car was perfectly fine.  Whew.

The Coxes finally got in town just in time for even more snow so we got to send the kids outside for more fun in the snow.

I managed to get some adorable shots of the Crawford and Cox kids...and this is all I could come up with for my girls minus Ansley.

When we finally tried to leave to go skiing, the roads were still not cooperating.  So Lori and Chris decided to walk five miles to town.  FIVE miles. For chains.

They caught a ride into town and we made it skiing...and had a blast.  So much so that I barely got any pictures from the three days we were on the slopes.

More of the Blackland Ridge group, the Defoors, were also at Sugar Mountain.

In this picture, let's focus on the beautiful scenery and not the fact that I accidentally took Maysie to a blue intermediate slope on her first day of skiing.

Ice skating was also a huge hit with this group.

Especially Doug.

One of the last nights of the week was my favorite, going to the Defoors house for a cocktail party....aka just another Thursday.

How I love our East Cobb "family!"
