Boosterthon 2013

Boosterthon 2013 was a huge hit!  Railey was beyond excited to run laps to raise money for Sope Creek.   Ms.  King's Fantastic Fish were ready to go!

Railey ran almost the entire time…and even I got tired watching her.  In true Railey fashion, she had a HUGE smile on her face each time she ran by us.

The little sisters all came out for moral support.  Most of the time they were playing on the playground….but Maysie took a quick break to spot her sister running.

After the race, we got to spend a little time with Railey.  She loved having Mommy and Daddy at school!  So much so that there might have been a few tears when we had to leave.

Great job to Ms. King's Fantastic Fish....

especially our Railey girl!

Make Room for Baby

At only four months pregnant, I think that the "nesting" phase has kicked in a little early....but if it means getting things done while my stomach is still at a somewhat normal size, then I will take it!

First order of business, new bedrooms for the girls.  Lucky for me, Tutu and Poppy agreed to come in town and help with this project.  Railey moved into the guest bedroom and Maysie moved into Railey's old bedroom.  Seems like it would be an easy switch, but Mom, Dad and I worked non-stop for three days to pull this one off.

I still need to get more "poofs" to fill the lamps, but you get the idea

Curtains compliments of Tutu!
Railey's favorite part of the room has to be the reading corner.  I searched high and low for the perfect reading chair, so when I found this hot pink one with sparkles at Learning Express, I knew I had succeeded.  Railey was so cute, she said, "Mama, you won't believe it but this reading chair makes me read even better!"

We weren't sure how Maysie was going to react to the big move but in true Maysie fashion, she welcomed it with open arms.  The only pushback I got was when I tried to put pillows around her so she wouldn't fall out of her big girl bed.

Now, onto the nursery!

First Day of School

To celebrate the first day of school, the neighborhood kids all met at the bus stop 15 minutes early (6:35!!!) to celebrate with donuts.  It was still dark outside but the kids were all smiles!

And just a few days later, little Miss Maysie started her first day of the 3 year program at Mt Bethel.  She was all smiles and had a great first day!

It is crazy to look at how much the bus stop has grown and how much the kids have changed since last year!

Zac Brown Band at the Georgia Dome

At three years and 3 months old, we decided that little Maysie was finally ready to go to her first concert.  Zac Brown Band was playing in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome so what better way than to celebrate the beginning of school than an outing to see Daddy hard at work.

And it turns out that waiting was a good thing.  We got to watch the show from the stage....not hidden on the side, but sitting down so everyone could see us.  As you will be able to see from most of these pictures (THANK YOU TO JOLIE LOREN PHOTOGRAPHY FOR THESE SHOTS), Maysie was more interested in her surroundings than by the concert that was going on ten feet in front of her.

Maysie sat in my lap most of the time, and Railey was an absolute angel too.  She only got restless when I told her she couldn't dance....did I mention that everyone could see us?!?

Maysie's mad face

You will notice that Maysie opted NOT to wear her headphones during the concert.  That is because she insisted that I wear them across my belly the entire time.  YEP, this mama is expecting baby number three, and it's ANOTHER GIRL!
