Cleaning Crew
This morning:
Railey: Mommy, what are you doing?
Me: I am straigtening the house for the cleaning crew.
Railey: Are they going to teach you how to clean the house Mommy?
Nice.

Christmas in July
Railey is ready for everything that Christmas has to bring this year. So much so that she and her best friend Sadie poured bubble solution all over the hardwood floors in her room and went ice skating in her room. If it hadn't been for the loud crash and Railey crying immediately following....it probably would have gone on for 15 more minutes. Mommy. Not. Happy.

What a difference two months make....
Today Sara Mays turned eight weeks old. It has, without a doubt, seemed much longer than that. Probably because so much has changed already since we brought her home from the hospital. She rolled over again, is smiling much more now, and is sleeping so well. Two nights ago she slept for 8 1/2 hours and last night for 7 hours!!! What a difference a good nights sleep makes...
She is such a laid back baby. We are so incredibly lucky to have two perfect little girls.....

Say Cheese!
Hospital Visit
Today we went to Eggleston Children's Hospital for Maysie to get a hip ultrasound. The doctor said that she had an increased chance of having a displaced hip since Railey had it as a baby. Thankfully, her hips are PERFECT!
I was pretty laidback about the possibility of the hip issue which probably has something to do with Railey being completely at ease in the horrible looking brace she wore for three months.

Today was a big day at the Chanon household. This morning started bright and early with Railey screaming my name through the monitor. After ten minutes of waking up (6:00 a.m. Is REALLY early for me) I went downstairs to find that her diaper had barely leaked onto her bed. She overreacted a bit but I put my foot down and decided that I am finally going to enter into the final stages of potty training. Nothing but laziness has kept me from doing this over the past nine months but I will maintain that the pregnancy and new baby is why I waited so long...next task is to take pacifiers away at night...but I digress.
The early morning wake up call motivated me to decide that there are no more pull ups during nap time. First day...success!!!
The second thing that happened today was that Railey got Squirt, a beta fish. Apparently her other three pets just weren't cutting it so I am glad that this fish will finally make her life complete. Poor deprived Railey.
When we went to Petco to get the dogs groomed Railey saved the day. The big turtle was attacking the small turtles and Railey told someone who took the big turtle to the back of the store. She said that she felt like the Wonder Pets saving the day....too cute.
On a more serious note, tomorrow we take Sara Mays to the hospital to get an xray to see if she has DDH like Railey. She is showing no signs so far after an exam by her pediatrician but they suggested she get it checked out because her chances of having it are increased because her big sis had it.

Let the Milestones Begin....
It's official...Maysie is growing up before my eyes. Yesterday, we reached two major milestones.
Maysie has been smiling for some time now but yesterday, for the first time, I think she actually smiled at me. To say the least I was excited about this but I wasn't surprised since she is almost six weeks.
But then, I left her on the ottoman to do some "tummy time" and when I came back she was on her back. I couldn't believe it...two days shy of six weeks old and she rolled over?!? I put her on her tummy again, this time she wasn't very happy with me but rolled over one more time.
Why do I have a feeling she is going to be running by the time she is ten months old?
