Tooth Fairy in Tallahassee

Little Miss Railey lost ANOTHER tooth at school on Friday!  This has to be some sort of record at Sope Creek.

This weekend was my annual FSU football game with the girls so we loaded up the kids and dogs and headed to Tallahassee.  When Railey woke up on Saturday morning, she found a note from the tooth fairy and THREE DOLLARS!  In true tooth fairy style, they had glitter all over them!

When Railey lost her first tooth, she was concerned about how the tooth fairy opened up her door to get into her room!  Problem solved!  One of my friends Katie started a business, Wall Fairies, and they sell a tiny tooth fairy door to put up on your wall so the tooth fairy can come into your room!  This picture doesn't do it justice at all...

Here is my Railey's new smile!

Jenn, Erin and I had a great time at the game.  GO NOLES!

Sesame Street Take 2

Unlike last year when we took the girls to the Sesame Street Live show (http://chanonfam.blogspot.com/2011/09/sesame-street-live.html), Maysie now has an obsession with everything that has to do with Elmo.

When she show started, she literally screamed and was a happy girl throughout the entire show.

Big sister came along...reluctantly at first.  Once she found out that there was cotton candy, she was a happy girl.

And to my surprise, she even shared some with her little sister!

Best seats in the house!  Thanks Paul!

East Cobber Parade

Fall weather, good friends, and our first parade made for two very happy Chanon girls this weekend.

Instead of going to the lakehouse, we stayed in town and enjoy the Sope Creek Family Fun Night on Friday, the East Cobber Parade on Saturday, then for the grand finale, we went to watch Buie play baseball.

Notice the big bags the kids are holding?  That is because the candy that comes from this parade makes Halloween look like childs play.  By the end of the day, the bag weighed more than Maysie.

There were firetrucks, marching bands and did I mention horses????  One of the ladies actually picked Maysie up to take her to see one of them!

Happy kids = Happy Saturday in East Cobb.

Next stop, the baseball park with the dogs in tow.  Paul had the idea for Railey to make a sign to cheer on Buie.  As you can see, she takes her cheering job VERY SERIOUSLY.

What Goes Around Comes Around

When I was about two years old, my mother received a call from her frantic neighbor saying, "Arden, don't panic, but Shea is leaning against the 2nd floor window in her bedroom."  It turns out that I wasn't quite ready for nap and decided that I wanted to take a look outside to see what was going on.

Let's just say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree....

I walked outside today to pick up Railey from the bus stop and heard little Maysie yelling my name.  This is what I saw when I turned around to look toward the house

No need to call DFCS quite yet...I only stopped to take a picture because we installed plexiglass in that window "just in case."  And because of the plexiglass, I decided that I needed to snap one more picture, a little closer this time.

On a side note, don't you all love the new "C" hanging on my front door?  Thanks Garrett for the great idea:)

Atlanta Cousins

Since Mom and Dad were in town to visit, we set up a dinner with some of the "Atlanta cousins."  We loaded up the kids and headed to Buckhead to have dinner with Big Don, Dad's cousin, and his entire family.  It's funny how history seems to repeat itself, because Railey met Isabella and worshipped her....just like I did twenty plus years ago when we used to visit cousin Amy.

It all started out so innocent....

Then the girls got into the makeup

Yes, that would be Railey using lip gloss as undereye concealer
Then Maysie escaped from her highchair

But we had fun, and that is what our families always do when we are together.  Next time, Amy and I will sit on the grownup side of the table and let Don play with/chase the kids.

And no night would be complete without Maysie "smiling" for the camera.

Next month, the big girls get to go to Disney on Ice together.  Please say a prayer for me and Amy.

Tooth Fairy Visit

Railey isn't patient.

So a couple of weeks ago when she told me she had a loose tooth, I knew I needed to be prepared.  I tried every trick in the book...."it will hurt if you wiggle it too much", "the dentist said it is best if you let it get looser on its own", and even resorted to telling her the truth...."I am just not ready to send my baby to Kindergarten AND lose her first tooth in such a short period of time."

Friday afternoon, Railey got off the bus with a HUGE smile minus her bottom tooth.  She pulled out that darn thing in the middle of story time.  I guess that the ballerina tooth fairy pillow Tutu ordered for her will have to wait for tooth #2.

The tooth fairy came to visit and left the sweetest note and THREE dollar bills covered in glitter!

She also left a trail of glitter from the closet door to the dresser...so if anyone wants to send the vacuum fairy over here to clean up, I would really appreciate it.
